Andha means blind, pangu means lame, and nyaya means logic. A blind man can walk but cannot see, and a lame man see but cannot walk. If the blind man takes the lame man on his shoulder, and the lame man gives him directions as he walks, combined, they can work. But individually neither the blind man nor the lame man can walk successfully. Similarly, the Western system of higher education, although well organized and sophisticated, is blind to spiritual necessity. On the other hand, although Eastern transcendentalism is highly esteemed, alone, it is lame to carry the world forward.
