RADHA'S KITCHEN

The Temple's existing kitchen is very old and it has become impossible to keep up with the safety standards using the current setup. The pipes are rusted and could break at any moment. Also, there is no flooring or proper equipment on which to cook. Your contribution will help to cook nicely for Sri Sri Gaura Nitai and to cook for hundreds of people during our free Sunday feasts. This will also allow us to cook for other major festivals such as Janmasthami, Radhasthami, Balaram Jayanti, Gaura Purnima, Govardhan Puja, Diwali, etc. By contributing to this cause, you and your family will receive the mercy of Sri Sri Radha Krishna!

"One should learn that for anything offered to Krishna with love and affection, Krishna can reciprocate many millions of times over, both materially and spiritually." (SB 10.11.11)

"One who offers the Deity gifts of land, markets, cities and villages so that regular daily worship and special festivals of the Deity may go on continually will achieve opulence equal to my own." (SB 11.27.51)

Works To Be Done

The temple currently needs a new plumbing system which would also include the mandatory replacement of the underground sewage system. A new stove is needed as the existing stove is not adequately equipped to handle cooking for Sunday feasts or festivals. A new walk-in cooler is needed solely for fresh produce. The sinks must be replaced. Flooring must be laid. Walls must be tiled. All these measures will ensure a clean, hygienic kitchen in which to serve Sri Sri Gaura Nitai.

A Rare Opportunity to Help

As the saying goes, "Time and tide wait for no man". This might be the last opportunity to help one of the most prestigious ISKCON centers around the world. Bhagavad Gita says charity is essential for those who work. This is an opportunity to give back to the society. Charity to support Vedic culture is essential and doing so helps to ensure this culture can be preserved and passed on to the future generations. Vedic culture brings peace and happiness to the world.

Estimated Cost

The cost to replace plumbing, replace sewer system, install new flooring, tile the walls, and obtain new equipment is estimated at around $150,000. A portion of funds (not more than 30%) may go towards the existing temple maintenance loans.
